6/1/2023 0 Comments Video converter atlasti![]() Sure one can try to convert those into markdown, but working with two copies of a document in markdown and the pdf, is just weird, not to mention the issues that arise from copy pasting - tried it and wasn’t too happy with it. Oh, I forgot, additionally, it would be even greater if one could make those textual annotations into pdf documents, downloaded html pages and what not. I guess with the line and column indexing system used by vim, one could use that to connect any textual annotations to any text documents. I just want to highlight the working and usefulness of essentially just textual annotations. This is not an advertisement for the software. But I highly encourage you to check it out ( short explainer video). I guess, people who have not used atlas.ti and the features it has (talking about codes and memos mainly not the automated analysis ), might not know why this would be useful. If one had a plug-in where one could select text, press some key to attach a code, so a tag would be a fine or if one could press some key to attach a memo that connects exactly to the text selection that would be grand. One can workaround the issue of memos, by just citing the material, full copy paste with the source and attach the thoughts. ![]() But what if you want to code a word, a few words or multiple sentences, sort of like a marginnote that summarises a section. With codes the issue currently is, that you can apply codes to sentences, and with dataview extract those sentences tagged with a tag. A FREE lite-versionfor basic features and the suite of additional software may make it worth a look, though, if your computer is compatible.Making codes (essentially tags) and memos to any textual information is sooo great. QDA Miner - An older interface and no Mac support hinder this otherwise-solid and full-featured software.Dedoose - Designed for mixed methods projects with fewer but more complex codes (allows ratings), this full-featured online software is a solid choice in some circumstances, especially distributed groups with somewhat complex projects, or those that would benefit from monthly pricing.Atlas.ti Cloud - Slick and colorful, but not full-featured, this is a great software for first-time users with uncomplicated needs.Online: These make it easier to collaborate with others and offer per-month pricing, (~$10-15/month), good for shorter projects See this video on Qualitative Analysis Using Excel (TrixieMay Racer) Excel or Google Sheets or Calc - Any spreadsheet program can do basic code and retrieve using the filter and pivot table functions which all of them have.Best for those already using R for quantitative needs and desiring some mixed methods options. ![]()
