You could even just use the trial, get it all done in 30 days, write the metadata into the files and sidecars, and then delete Lr. With Lr you can write all the standard metadata to files (right away or later) and hence the info is preserved in the files, and it doesn't matter if Lr, Bridge or PM put it there. Especially if you look into some plugins like Any Tag that make its use easier with metadata. Lr has more tools on the Mac for doing all this than anything. And any DAM is gonna have albums, collections, smart collections, filters, etc to make that even easier. They are far far more inflexible than keywords, even flat keywords.
